He currently heads up the COE and Strategy Office for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies at Wipro Limited, a leading $8.5 B global technology solutions and MSP, services, and consulting company. He has led businesses to $1 B + with contributions at Wipro Limited, SAP AG, Trend Micro, Trustwave, MetricStream, Exodus Communications and Sprint. He has founded companies and led them to M&A to the tune of $810 M. Bala has also advised leading strategy consulting, venture capital, PE and investment firms including McKinsey, EY-Parthenon, Bain, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, Cantor Fitzgerald, Bank of America etc.

Bala’s high technology domain experience spans semiconductor, hardware, compute, storage, software, cyber security, data center, cloud platforms, mobility, analytics / AI, IoT, 5G, Edge Compute, Risk Management / GRC, and emerging tech.

Bala earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay, India, and master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, Texas.
